Edward remembered a particularly odd-looking rock in amongst the chests, but... an
? Madness. While he considered that, when the dragon began to pick at the rope, his holder gave it a sharp tug to stop. They weren't taking their chances.
"Too right you aren't. Crocodiles don't have
." He studied him for a long moment, pacing the deck and fingering his pistol, then looked up at his crew. "What do you think, gentleman? Why not proceed as we did before, sell it to the highest bidder? We'd make a greater fortune than any old shiny rock would have brought us."
Still the reaction was mixed -- unease spread with cheers. Some wanted the dragon put to the sword immediately, others more of a mind of their captain's brand of recklessness were more willing to take the risk until they made it to port.
Perhaps more importantly, Edward could tell the Assassins about its existence, but why bother? They had little coin to offer, much less than the Spanish or British would be willing to offer up for it.
